Mike Nesbitt
Former Irish international athlete and BBC sports reporter, Mike Nesbitt is today better known for his role as a news and current affairs presenter.
Mike joined UTV to help launch the UTV Live brand, which has established itself as the UK’s most-watched regional news programme in the UK. Mike also hosted UTV’s weekly flagship current affairs programme, Counterpoint (now called Insight), which was in the vanguard of interactive programming which gave a voice to victims of violence and survivors of abuse.
During his career, Mike has presented sports, news, current affairs, light entertainment (as a stand-in presenter of Kelly) and religion - with his wife, Lynda Bryans, he hosted ITV’s network religious affairs programme, Sunday Morning. Mike and Lynda have also been regular columnists with the Sunday World newspaper.
As an after dinner speaker or MC, Mike brings a level of professionalism and humour to events throughout the country. Recent clients include Antrim and Magherafelt Councils, the NIMBA and C.A.U.S.E. charities, the Criminal Justice System, Business in the Community, Eventure, and a range of SMEs.
Mike also supplies media training and media awareness sessions: clients have included Diageo, Coca-Cola, the University of Ulster and the Department of the Environment.
