Dr. Scott Miller
Originally from Australia, Scott works for a veterinary hospital in East London whilst appearing as the resident vet on ITV1’s This Morning for the last five years. Using his unique down-to-earth style and broad veterinary knowledge, Scott has become a household name in Britain as a leading TV vet and animal lover. Scott recently hosted Extinct for Meridian, a programme highlighting endangered species whilst regularly appearing on BBC Breakfast News, The Paul O’Grady Show, Blue Peter, GMTV and CBBC.
Working closely with a number of animal charities, Scott travelled to Indonesia with International Animal Rescue in Oct 07 helping to rescue and rehabilitate macaques and brahminy kites. He also worked closely with campaigners to stop the cruel exploitation of sloth bears in India the previous year. Visiting Pakistan in the wake of the terrible earthquakes of December 2005, Scott worked with the Brooke Hospital vets treating injured donkeys and horses. Other charities close to Scott’s heart include Care for the Wild (CFTW), Cats Protection (who’s Rescue Cat of the Year Awards he presented last year), Dogs Trust, International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) and Compassion in World Farming (voicing films showing cruel slaughter processes abroad).
Scott has written a book on puppy care called Puppy Parenting which was published by Hamlyn in September 2007, whilst also contributing to the Scottish Sunday Mail, Your Cat and National Geographic Kids magazines. Since beginning his regular radio programme on Classic Gold in May 2007 and helping to set up a new veterinary surgery on the Algarve of Portugal, Scott spends much of his remaining time training for triathlons and caring for his beautiful Border Terrier (or terrorist!) Betty.
